OLEANA

Oleana is a family-run enterprise established in 1992 for the specific purpose of creating jobs in the Norwegian textile industry. Almost all Western European textile production had, at the time, been moved to countries with far cheaper labour. Oleana wanted to prove that it was possible to go against this trend and create a viable business venture by recruiting good people – and by producing amazing garments.

Norway has a long and and significant tradition within the textile industry, particularly production of textiles and patterned knitwear. To the founders it was important to keep the production nationally so that traditions and knowledge could be preserved.
