TINGVOLL DAIRY FARM

The dairy was established in 2003 at Saghaug farm in Tingvoll municipality on Norway’s North-Western Coast. The farm’s history dates back to 1303 and four generations live together there now. The cheese is processed in a separate cheese factory on the farm built in 2006. The neighbouring barn was raised in 2009. Three to four days a week 700 litres of milk are delivered to the containers where the cheese is produced. Tingvoll’s cheeses have won both national and international awards. In 2016 the cheese “Kraftkar” was named world champion of blue cheeses and the world’s overall best cheese at the World Cheese Awards in San Sebastian in Spain

A very very good cheese. With several 1st prizes – latest at the world championship of cheeses for their blue cheese “Kraftkar” this is the pinnacle of Norwegian cheese production. It is local produce at its best. And the makers are nice as well!
