THE NEED TO CREATE
An HÅNDLAGET member is a crafts workshop or business that develops, preserves and disseminates knowledge. Solid craftsmanship and beautiful designs are being sold here. You are permitted to TOUCH and FEEL the objects produced by craftspeople and they will show you the traditions and reveal the history behind the traditions.
CREATING WITH PRIDE
HÅNDLAGET Norway is part of an international quality network developed in Quebec in Canada and consists of close to 100 crafts enterprises from Canada and Europe who cooperate and preserve ancient crafts traditions.
An HÅNDLAGET member is a crafts workshop selected on the basis of its commitment to quality and authenticity in crafts. It is the GENUINNE.
TAKING PLEASURE IN LEARNING
The craft workshops are independent producers of crafts based goods made according to traditional methods and techniques as well as offering cultural activities. HÅNDLAGET preserves and disseminates traditional crafts techniques and skills to future generations. And new models for cultural entrepreneurship are created.
